On June 28, 2011, Shire Pharmaceuticals, the global specialty biopharmaceutical company, announced that following the satisfaction of the closing conditions, including the expiry of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act of 1976, the acquisition of Advanced BioHealing, Inc., as first announced on May 17, 2011, has been completed.
Advanced BioHealing is now the regenerative medicine business of Shire, led by Kevin Rakin, Chief Executive Officer.
